The cool smoke distracts the honey bees from the activity going on when the beekeeper checks the frames for honey, pollen and egg laying pattern. The beekeeper is able to tell the health of the honey bee colony by seeing how much pollen and honey have been stored. The strength of the honey bee queen is determined by the egg laying pattern and whether the honey bees have drawn out replacement honey bee queen cells.

Protective heat shield surrounds the smoker to help prevent the user from burns.

Side mounting hook bulit into the heat shield allows you to safely suspend or store your smoker.

Perforated removable fire base provides air pockets at the bottom of the smoker to envourage good airflow and  keeps the fire directly off of the bottom
